As a PCB Design Electronics Engineer with the Nidec Aerospace team, you will design electric propulsion systems for battery‑powered aircraft, supporting the industry’s transition to net‑zero carbon emissions by 2050.

Job Description

The PCB Design Electronics Engineer is responsible for the design, analysis, and testing of electronic circuits and board assemblies, and for integrating circuit card assemblies into airborne electronic equipment for motor control. The role includes capturing hardware requirements, performing formal verification, and ensuring compliance with aerospace development processes.

Responsibilities & Duties
  • Capture hardware requirements to fulfill equipment and system specifications.
  • Design electronic circuits for aerospace applications based on hardware requirements.
  • Select electronic devices and capture electronic schematics, designing PCB layouts.
  • Simulate and validate electronic circuit designs.
  • Manage PCBs bill of materials and support device procurement.
  • Support circuit board assembly prototyping and perform prototype commissioning.
  • Use ARP
    4754A, DO254, and other aerospace standards for circuit board assembly development.
  • Support system and equipment engineering in architecture definitions.
  • Collaborate with equipment, software, and other hardware teams during design and integration.
  • Run tests for formal verification of electronic hardware.
  • Perform reliability analysis for designed hardware and write analysis reports.
  • Manage problem reports and conduct root‑cause analysis and design changes.
Technical Attributes and Essential Experience

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Electrical / Electronic Engineering, Control Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in electronic circuit design.
  • Preferred experience in developing electronic hardware for aerospace.
  • Experience with ARP
    4754A and DO‑254 processes.
  • Experience in designing motor drivers (inverters) and high‑voltage equipment.
  • Experience with DO‑160 testing.
  • Experience with Altium, Spice, MATLAB, Simulink.
