Structural Project Engineer

leading structural engineering consultancy is seeking a driven Structural Project Engineer to support its continued growth in Atlanta and Nashville. This opportunity offers exposure to complex building projects and the chance to play an active role in project delivery, design coordination, and client engagement.

Responsibilities
  • Perform structural analysis and design for a variety of building projects.
  • Coordinate closely with senior engineers and support design team delivery.
  • Prepare calculations, drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Assist with selection of structural systems, materials, and specifications.
  • Collaborate with architects and multidisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive design solutions.
  • Support construction administration activities, including RFIs, shop drawing reviews, and site visits.
  • Produce technical reports and assist with condition assessments and peer reviews.
  • Manage project tasks, schedules, and support team coordination efforts.
  • Participate in client meetings and contribute to business development initiatives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering (structural focus required).
  • Master's degree in structural engineering discipline preferred/required.
  • Minimum of 4 years' structural engineering experience in building design.
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) licence.
  • Experience with tools such as RAM Structural System, Tekla Structural Designer, and Revit.
  • Familiarity with BIM platforms (e.g., BIM 360).
  • Strong understanding of building codes and materials including steel, concrete, masonry, and timber.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Commitment to quality, continuous development, and mentoring.
