Job DescriptionAs a Motor Test Technician in Nidec Aerospace, you will support engineering in designing, evaluating, and testing electronic motor controls. Your responsibilities include building, setting up, and conducting motor testing to support validation and qualification, as well as maintaining a safe and efficient lab environment.
Responsibilities include:- Disassembling generators, motors, pumps, and related components.
- Preparing test setups and conducting electrical, environmental, and performance tests, documenting results.
- Assembling screened cables with proper shielding and insulation.
- Performing electro-mechanical assembly tasks.
- Adhering to safety regulations in high voltage lab environments (+5 - 1000
VDC and up to 600 VAC).
- Associate degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Over 3 years’ experience in power distribution or aerospace testing labs, with hands-on skills in assembly, modification, repair, and testing of electric motors and drivers.
- Proficiency with lab equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, data loggers, spectrum analyzers, environmental chambers, and thermocouples.
- Experience working in high voltage environments with adherence to safety standards (OSHA, , BS EN 50110-1).
- Familiarity with harnessing and soldering standards (IPC/WHMA-A-620, J-STD-001, IEC 62271, UL 891).
- Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics, and use CAD tools.
