Overview

A well-established, multidisciplinary engineering consulting firm is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join its growing Atlanta office. This is a leadership-oriented role focused on delivering high-quality HVAC and plumbing design across a diverse range of projects, while supporting team development and contributing to business growth. The position offers direct client exposure, technical ownership, and the opportunity to play a key role in shaping a collaborative, high‑performing engineering team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and delivery of HVAC and plumbing systems across multiple project types
  • Manage concurrent projects, ensuring alignment with budget, schedule, and quality standards
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff
  • Interface directly with clients, architects, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Support proposal development and contribute to business development initiatives
  • Perform engineering calculations and system analysis using industry-standard tools
  • Ensure designs meet all applicable codes, standards, and client requirements
  • Contribute to a positive, team-driven office culture
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field)
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required
  • 10-15 years of experience within MEP consulting
  • Strong background in HVAC and plumbing system design
  • Proven experience leading projects and coordinating teams
  • Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD
  • Experience with load calculation software (e.g., HAP, Trace)
  • Strong communication and client-facing skills
  • Ability to work both independently and within a collaborative team environment
Preferred
  • Experience with energy modeling
  • Familiarity with local codes and AHJ processes
  • Active involvement in professional or industry organizations
