A well-established, multidisciplinary engineering consulting firm is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join its growing Atlanta office. This is a leadership-oriented role focused on delivering high-quality HVAC and plumbing design across a diverse range of projects, while supporting team development and contributing to business growth. The position offers direct client exposure, technical ownership, and the opportunity to play a key role in shaping a collaborative, high‑performing engineering team.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the design and delivery of HVAC and plumbing systems across multiple project types
- Manage concurrent projects, ensuring alignment with budget, schedule, and quality standards
- Provide leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff
- Interface directly with clients, architects, and multidisciplinary teams
- Support proposal development and contribute to business development initiatives
- Perform engineering calculations and system analysis using industry-standard tools
- Ensure designs meet all applicable codes, standards, and client requirements
- Contribute to a positive, team-driven office culture
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field)
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- 10-15 years of experience within MEP consulting
- Strong background in HVAC and plumbing system design
- Proven experience leading projects and coordinating teams
- Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD
- Experience with load calculation software (e.g., HAP, Trace)
- Strong communication and client-facing skills
- Ability to work both independently and within a collaborative team environment
- Experience with energy modeling
- Familiarity with local codes and AHJ processes
- Active involvement in professional or industry organizations
