Tech Ops Engineer Intern – Fall 2026, AWS Data Center Commissioning

Amazon internships are full‑time positions, 40 hours per week (Mon‑Fri, 8am‑5pm). Applicants must be available for the entire internship period, with at least one quarter/semester/trimester remaining after the internship concludes.
Preferred start dates:
August or September 2026. Start location will be determined at offer time from among several U.S. sites (Virginia, Oregon, Ohio, Texas, Georgia, Washington). A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required for a field‑based role with possible early‑morning onsite work.
- Serve as a technical resource within Amazon data centers, overseeing project progression across electrical, mechanical, controls, and architectural disciplines.
- Identify improvement opportunities and implement solutions to address operational challenges, using data from other teams and stakeholders.
- Participate in multidisciplinary teams to develop, deploy, and optimize innovative solutions for electrical, mechanical, fire detection, and building automation systems.
- Communicate regularly with vendors, internal teams, and customers to ensure high‑quality service delivery.
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Knowledge of power systems, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, HVAC, or commercial/industrial mechanical systems.
- Experience with web‑based calculation and data processing tools.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- 18 years of age or older.
- Min‑40 hrs/week, 12‑week internship commitment.
- Experience with AI/ML technologies.
- Prior relevant internship experience.
- Knowledge of commercial/industrial power or mechanical systems.
- Knowledge of HVAC systems.
- Strong analytic and problem‑solving skills.

Benefits & CompensationStarting pay varies by location and qualification. Typical range: US $96,000 – $166,300 annually. Levels are based on experience, qualifications, and location.
