Willmer Engineering is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented RTT Inspector to join our field services team. In this role, you will perform on-site quality control inspections and testing of construction materials including soil, concrete, and asphalt to ensure projects comply with safety standards, design plans, and technical specifications. This position provides hands‑on field experience and opportunities for career growth in a collaborative and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities- Contribute to department goals by supporting project delivery, quality standards, and client expectations.
- Perform soil density testing using nuclear gauge and sand cone methods in accordance with ASTM, GDOT, and project specifications.
- Collect concrete samples and perform field testing, including slump, air, and temperature tests.
- Conduct asphalt sampling and testing as required.
- Perform proof rolls, undercut observations, footing inspections, and other construction monitoring activities.
- Carry out quality assurance inspections and material sampling to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Interpret project plans, drawings, and specifications to verify construction adherence.
- Prepare detailed field reports, document daily activities, and calculate testing data accurately.
- Monitor work procedures for safety compliance, including proper handling of nuclear density gauges, and coordinate with clients, supervisors, foremen, engineers, and contractors on site.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- GDOT RTT Certification required or ability to obtain.
- ACI Concrete Field Testing certification preferred.
- Radiation Safety Training for Nuclear Gauges required.
- Experience ranging from entry-level to experienced technician levels (0–7+ years).
- Strong understanding of construction materials and field testing procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
- Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record required.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to perform basic calculations and data reporting (Excel proficiency preferred).
- Ability to work independently in field environments.
