Responsibilities
  • Maintain client relationships, contracting, project planning and execution, financial management, technical management, change management, and project team management including subcontractors.
  • Lead technical execution on structural stability and strength analyses, structural design, Potential Failure Mode Analyses, Semi-Quantitative Risk Assessments, site inspections, construction observation, and regulatory compliance activities for hydraulic concrete structures such as spillways, outlet works, and other site civil structures.
  • Plan, manage, and lead field investigations for hydraulic structures.
  • Prepare and perform quality control reviews of engineering deliverables including design calculations, reports, construction drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Build and maintain project schedules, resources, budgets, and risk management.
  • Plan, direct, supervise, and lead multi‑disciplinary teams on Dam Safety Engineering projects.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel for project work and business development part‑time as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Structural Engineering and 8 years of related experience or equivalent.
  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer in at least one state with ability to apply for reciprocity in additional states.
  • Minimum 5 years of direct experience managing projects with budgets, schedules, staffing, quality control, and client relations.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience developing proposals, including technical approaches, scopes of work, budgeting, and scheduling.
  • Occasional travel to project sites, client meetings, and professional conferences required.
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License and ability to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum 10 years of related experience or equivalent.
  • Master of Science in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering.
  • Experience leading multi‑disciplinary teams.
  • Ability to complete Managing AECOM Projects training and receive the AECOM Project Manager certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI, Project, Primavera P6, Bluebeam, Procore, e‑Builder, AutoCAD, Mathcad, STADD Pro, and Ansys.
  • Passion for mentoring junior staff and leadership.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Project experience with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
  • Approved FERC Independent Consultant or ability to receive FERC approval for Part 12D inspections.
  • Experience performing risk assessments and Potential Failure Mode Analyses related to dam design, construction, and operation.
  • Sponsorship for U.S. employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.
  • Relocation is not available for this position.
  • Occasional travel to project sites, client meetings, and professional conferences required.
