Job SummaryResponsible for planning, scheduling, employee oversight, and management of industrial mechanical construction projects up to $10M in value, with a primary focus on industrial piping systems and equipment setting. Assists Project Manager in coordinating activities of employees engaged in construction processes, utilizing knowledge of equipment, techniques, procedures, and specifications, with emphasis on process and utility piping installation and execution.
Responsibilities- Review project schedules with Superintendents/Foreman to ensure critical activities remain on schedule for the project management team.
- Oversee field activities for industrial construction projects from setup to close‑out related to industries such as energy, power, mining, manufacturing, and pharma, with direct oversight of industrial piping system installation, welding, and system completion.
- Document project field issues that impact budget, quality, or schedule, and provide them to the project management team.
- Respond to subcontractor requests for field issues that impact budget, quality, or schedule, primarily for supporting scopes such as insulation, coatings, and specialty services.
- Supervise the daily work of employees including pipe fitters, welders, and supporting craft.
- Verify conformance of finished work product, including ensuring compliance with all contract requirements and applicable piping codes and specifications.
- Ensure all safety and environmental requirements are met.
- Coordinate labor, equipment, and subcontractor resources with project subordinates and other Loenbro companies to ensure timely, cost‑effective project completion with focus on efficient installation of process and utility piping systems.
- Lead execution of shutdowns, outages, and live system tie‑ins where required.
- Ensure systems are ready for testing, turnover, and commissioning support.
Required:
- Engineering or Construction Management Degree preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in construction of industrial & commercial projects with experience in industrial piping systems.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a leadership role overseeing mechanical craft trades including pipe fitters and welders.
- Proficient with all Microsoft Office products.
- Completion of OSHA 30 or equivalent safety training.
- Ability to travel at least 75% of the time.
- Driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Experience with HCSS Heavy Job or similar job costing program.
- Experience with P6 or similar scheduling software.
- Experience with Viewpoint or similar account software.
- Experience with Heavy Bid or similar estimating software.
- Familiarity with code‑compliant piping systems (ASME or similar).
- Climbing up and down stairs and ladders to get in and out of trenches and elevated platforms (scaffolding at significant heights).
- Lifting necessary equipment and materials 1–50 pounds, 50% of time monthly.
Walking on uneven terrain, average of two miles per day. - Standing, sitting, stooping, crawling, and kneeling as required.
- Use of respirator if position requires.
- Driving when required to travel.
- Work primarily outdoors.
- Potential exposure to extreme cold and hot temperatures.
- Mining environment.
- Fit and move in confined spaces including tanks and vessels.
- Limited working surfaces.
- Exposure to noise above 85 decibels and intense odors.
