ENVIRONMENTAL AFFAIRS COMPLIANCE ASSURANCE ENGINEER/SPECIALIST

Location:

Atlanta, GA. Requires in-office presence four days per week at 2480 Maner Road SE, with additional work at 241 Ralph McGill Blvd or facility sites as needed.

This position may be filled as an analyst, specialist, or engineer depending on educational background, experience, and qualifications. POSITION OVERVIEW

This position supports environmental programs across Georgia Power by ensuring Enablon and related EMS processes provide practical value. The role combines system support, process improvement, and collaboration to strengthen compliance assurance, data quality, and consistent execution of environmental programs.

Ideal candidate has experience with environmental regulations affecting air, water, or waste and can understand business and operations to build relationships with stakeholders.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Enhance and Support Georgia Power’s Environmental Management Information System (Enablon)
  • Support sustainment and continuous improvement of Enablon for accurate compliance reporting.
  • Maintain quality of Enablon content, partnering with subject matter experts.
  • Drive adoption via first‑tier user support and coordinate second‑tier support.
  • Support software enhancements and new modules, create job aids, training materials, and deliver live training.
  • Analyze Enablon data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities; prepare reports and dashboards.
Support Key Environmental Management System Processes
  • Develop understanding of operations and environmental compliance requirements.
  • Build relationships with experts and facility personnel to improve process consistency.
  • Advocate for consistent implementation of EMS across all facilities.
  • Support compliance assurance field team as needed.
  • Coordinate and strengthen Environmental Affairs Training Program.
  • Support Environmental Recordkeeping Program aligning with RIM.
  • Support continuous improvement of EMS documentation and reporting.
  • Participate in storm restoration and emergency response.
  • Up to 25% travel throughout Georgia; occasional travel to Alabama.
  • Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience supporting information systems, environmental compliance programs, or related processes.
  • Experience supporting environmental compliance for air, water, or waste.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with EHS or ESG information systems such as Enablon.
  • Experience developing reports using Power BI or similar.
  • Experience in client or customer support.
  • Experience implementing or supporting information systems.
  • Experience with project management.

  • Strong judgment and critical thinking to analyze and resolve regulatory issues.
