About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Data Center Acoustician / Acoustic Modeling Specialist with proven experience in campus-level acoustic planning, design and modeling.

In this role, you will act as the key Subject Matter Expert (SME) for sound control across mission-critical infrastructure. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to guide site design, evaluate regulatory impacts and manage acoustic risks. A strong understanding of large-scale facilities, sound-generating equipment (such as generators and cooling systems), and rough‑order‑of‑ magnitude (ROM) cost estimating is essential.

What You’ll Do
  • Site Selection & Due Diligence:
Participate in Due Diligence and Campus Planning sessions as the acoustic SME. Guide site selection, site design, and equipment layout to minimize environmental noise impacts.
  • Acoustic Review & Risk Mitigation:
Evaluate consultant‑led noise models and reports to ensure strict compliance with local zoning laws and global standard requirements. Proactively identify high‑risk sites and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Standards & Product Development:
Design and refine standard sound attenuation products for the Owner portfolio. Help develop and maintain program documentation, including modeling standards (gPOR), vendor requirements, and public policy guidelines.
  • Design & Layout Support:
Guide Test Fit and Site Plan development. Deliver technical guidance on sound contours, sensitive receptor locations, mitigation costs/schedules, and the acoustic footprint of cooling systems.
What You’ll Need
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Acoustics, Physics or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in acoustic modeling.
  • Strong understanding of sound‑attenuation and mitigation systems for large‑scale cooling and diesel generator equipment.
  • Knowledgeable in the compliance requirements of the pertinent codes, regulations, and standards.
  • Familiarity with CadnaA or SoundPLAN.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 10+ years of professional acoustic consulting or engineering experience.
  • Experience with mission‑critical facilities.
  • Experience with large-scale, multi-source campus modeling.
  • Expertise in CadnaA or SoundPLAN.
