The Assistant Project Manager assists the Project Manager and Superintendent on assigned projects.
The position assists in the management of the overall project direction, completion, and financial outcome.
The Assistant Project Manager works under supervision, assists in the management and/or coordination of on-site staff, and gathers and distributes information.
The Assistant Project Manager must be a flexible and adaptable team player, as well as have strong time management, communication, and client service skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in management and/or coordination of Company personnel and resources. Assist in preparation and execution of Project Execution Plan. Setup initial contracts and project information in PMIS. Receive, review, forward and track status of submittals. Initiate, prepare, review, track and distribute RFIs. Assist in management of project permit process. Assist in preparations of bid packages and procurement. Assist in cost control and cost management systems.
Manage construction schedule based on project team input, Trade Contractor progress and materials delivery. Change management systems, including soliciting, receiving, reviewing, and preparing quotations and change orders. Track and inspect material deliveries. Compile reports regarding financial performance of the project, including PSR, PFC and CI report. Preparation of monthly owner project status reports, as required, for approval by Project Manager.
Attend and/or lead project meetings. Assist in development and maintenance of site logistics plan, in coordination with Project Manager and Superintendent. Complete project close-out. Communicate and enforce Skanska Safety and Health Management Program. Demonstrate commitment to an Injury-Free Environment through own actions and mentoring others. Other Duties:

Education and Experience:
Required Qualifications:
5+ Years of experience creating documentation such as RFIs, and client correspondence on issues related to the notification provisions in contracts. 5+ years of reading and understanding construction plans and drawings and the technical specifications associated with drawings. Able to outline specifications required for submission to clients and ensure submittals and shop drawings are approved. 5+ years preparing subcontract scopes and contracts.
3+ years' experience with project close out. 2+ years working with cost control systems. Bachelor's Degree in Construction/Engineering or 8 years equivalent experience plus minimum 5 years prior relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred Procore Construction Management certification Preferred experience with broad job knowledge of technical or operational practices within electrical construction. Preferred CMIT certificate Working knowledge of design and drawing software to including, but not limited to, Revit, AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, NAVIA, and Bluebeam Working knowledge of BIM 360 and BIM 360 Plan Working knowledge of Prolog and Primavera P6
