Senior Product Manager, Aviation
We are looking for a Senior Product Manager, Aviation to help define and grow Flock's aviation product portfolio. This role sits at the intersection of hardware, embedded software, cloud software, operations, and a rapidly evolving regulatory environment. You will work closely with Engineering, Design, Operations, Legal, GTM, and leadership to turn customer needs, technical constraints, and market opportunities into a clear roadmap and durable product execution.
This role is responsible for helping Flock harden and scale an American-made autonomous drone platform at a moment of substantial market and regulatory change. You will develop deep customer and market understanding, drive technical product work with engineering, and own roadmap decisions that balance customer value, regulatory realities, product quality, and speed.
In addition to internal product leadership, this role requires strong cross-functional partnership and the ability to lead product conversations across a broad set of stakeholders. Success in this role means building trust with engineers, understanding aviation-specific constraints, and translating complexity into clear priorities and execution.
Key Responsibilities:Build deep understanding of aviation customers, workflows, and user personas, including pilots, dispatchers, patrol teams, and other operators within the DFR ecosystem
Translate regulatory, market, and competitive dynamics into product strategy and roadmap priorities, including developments across FAA, FCC, and more
Partner closely with Engineering to run technical projects end-to-end and make informed tradeoff decisions across hardware, embedded software, connectivity, and cloud systems
Own roadmap sequencing and prioritization for aviation product investments across near-term execution and longer-term product vision
Work cross-functionally with Design, Operations, Customer Success, Training, Legal, Compliance, and GTM to ensure the product evolves in ways that support customer outcomes and operational realities
Develop sufficient technical fluency in core architecture and subsystems to guide product decisions with credibility and clarity
Lead prioritization, scoping, and intake conversations within the engineering team and across adjacent product and engineering groups
Represent customer needs and product direction clearly across internal stakeholders, while aligning aviation priorities with broader company strategy
Proven product management experience in complex, technical environments where hardware, software, and operational systems intersect
Strong ability to operate in ambiguous, fast-moving spaces and convert incomplete information into clear strategy
Demonstrated success partnering deeply with engineering teams on technical tradeoffs, execution, and roadmap planning
Ability to learn and navigate domain-specific regulatory constraints and use them effectively in shaping product direction
Strong customer instinct and market judgment, with the ability to connect user needs to product strategy and execution
Comfort working across a wide range of stakeholders, including engineering, design, operations, legal, compliance, GTM, and leadership
Interest in or experience with aviation, autonomous systems, robotics, drones, or similarly regulated product spaces is preferred but not required
Feeling uneasy that you haven't ticked every box? That's okay research shows candidates from underrepresented backgrounds often hesitate to apply unless they meet every qualification. If this role excites you, we encourage you to apply.
