Overview

Siemens is looking for a Procurement Engineer for the Peachtree Corners, GA location. The role involves early procurement and supplier engagement throughout product development and manufacturing, monitoring current products to minimize costs, and serving as the main interface between engineering and the supply base. The engineer will work closely with R&D, commodity managers, and suppliers to drive cost reduction, innovate solutions, and ensure technical compliance.

Responsibilities
  • Early Procurement Involvement:
    Engage in preliminary development, implement cost‑reduction measures (design to cost, target costing, standardization, key data), represent Strategic Procurement in R&D meetings, and align development goals with commodity strategies.
  • Early Supplier Integration:
    Include suppliers in early stages, conduct cost‑benefit and innovation workshops, evaluate material cost targets, and optimize costs through design‑to‑cost.
  • Market Analysis:
    Initiate market observation and provide analyses on international technologies and price trends to source new suppliers and technologies.
  • Technology Roadmap Alignment:
    Follow cross‑functional procurement strategies to link commodity strategies with technological market trends and support core and non‑core initiatives.
  • Sourcing Decisions:
    Drive sourcing decisions with interface partners, incorporate technical knowledge, safeguard security strategies, and support cross‑functional sourcing concepts.
  • Business Support:
    Provide support for projects, contribute to quotes, workshops, Bill‑of‑Materials assessment, and identify savings opportunities.
  • Supplier Assessment:
    Evaluate and develop suppliers from a technological standpoint, selecting the best suppliers in collaboration with interface partners.
  • Knowledge Management:
    Participate in work groups and projects to stay informed, influence early stages, and share knowledge.
  • Risk Minimization:
    Apply preventive methods, design and improve requirements, specifications, and concepts based on supplier categorization.
  • Product/Service

    Qualifications:

    Coordinate product/service qualifications and approvals based on specific requirements and specifications (Ready to Order).
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
  • 5+ years of procurement and supply‑chain management experience across R&D, manufacturing, procurement, finance, and supplier interfacing.
  • 3+ years of industry experience within a mechanical, electrical, or electronic component manufacturing business.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
  • BS in Electrical Engineering.
  • Project management knowledge and leadership experience.
  • Strong communication, listening, networking, and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills and sound judgment in assessing risks and control deficiencies.
  • Proactive, team‑player, ownership, presentation skills, and drive to implement changes.

Siemens follows Pay Transparency laws.

Pay Range

The pay range for this position is $91,463 – $156,794 annually, with a target incentive of 10% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and the candidate’s experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
