We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to support the build, wiring, and integration of advanced robotic work cells and industrial automation systems. This role will focus on panel building, machine wiring, troubleshooting, and supporting the successful delivery of automation projects across a variety of industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities- Layout and wire electrical panels, third-party hardware, sensors, and automation equipment.
- Perform panel, machine, and system wiring including conduit and wireway installation in accordance with NEC/NFPA regulations and customer specifications.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems, wiring, and automation equipment as required.
- Interpret and work from electrical schematics and design packages.
- Support system testing, integration, debug, and final acceptance activities.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, programmers, and technicians to resolve technical issues and ensure successful project delivery.
- Monitor project schedules and work within budgeted hours and deadlines.
- Prepare progress updates and communicate any technical or scheduling concerns to management.
- Follow company quality standards and ISO 9001 procedures throughout the build and integration process.
- Highly proficient in EPLAN using both NFPA and ISO design standards/styles
. - Electrical certification, diploma, or equivalent post-secondary technical qualification.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical wiring, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Previous experience building electrical panels and wiring industrial automation systems.
- Experience with robotics, automated machinery, or industrial automation equipment is strongly preferred.
- Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working within cross-functional teams in manufacturing and engineering environments.
- Ability to travel approximately 10–25% domestically and internationally as required.
- Flexibility to work overtime when needed.
- Experience supporting robotic cells, automation integration, and machine commissioning.
- Familiarity with industrial controls, sensors, and automated manufacturing systems.
- Strong communication and coordination skills within technical project teams.
