Senior Roadway Engineer

Overview

AtkinsRéalis seeks an energetic and highly motivated self-starter to join our Atlanta, Georgia office team as a Senior Roadway Engineer working on various Highway and Roadway projects.

• Assist in the planning, design, and production of engineering drawings; may supervise the production of these drawings. Execute assignments in preparing and assembling specifications.
• Participate in conducting engineering investigations and planning work, including collection and analysis of data, routine calculations, and evaluating feasibility of alternate solutions.
• Prepare assigned sections of reports working under close review of a more experienced professional.
• Participate on projects involving construction activities by reviewing shop drawings for conformance to specifications; assist in recordkeeping and generating progress reports; observe construction procedures and collect samples for quality control testing.
• Perform data acquisition and analysis, research feasibility of alternative design approaches, site conditions, and/or regulatory agency specifications or regulations.
• Prepare material for reports and permit applications, gather information, draft outlines, prepare work progression documents and graphic presentations.

• I-20 Abilene, Schematic/Environmental (TXDOT)
• US90A Houston, PS&E (TXDOT)

• BS and/or MS in Engineering.
• 10+ years of engineering experience.
• Must have highway/roadway design.
• Excellent technical and interpersonal skills.
• Strong team management skills.
• DOT experience required, GDOT preferred.
• Georgia PE required or ability to obtain through reciprocity.
• Proficiency in Micro Station and Open Roads Designer.
• AutoCAD Civil 3D recommended but not required.

Expected compensation range is between $155,000-$185,000 annually depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
