Role Overview
The Procurement Officer will support the end‑to‑end subcontractor and supplier procurement process for the SR400 Express Lanes Project, including sourcing, prequalification, issuing RFQs, and coordinating clarifications throughout the tendering cycle.
Project DetailsThe SR400 Express Lanes Project is a $4.6billion infrastructure initiative led by SR400 Constructors, a joint venture between Flatiron Dragados and ACCIONA. Commissioned by the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) and the Georgia State Road Tollway Authority (SRTA), the project will add two 16‑mile express lanes from Sandy Springs MARTA Station (Exit5) to McFarland (Exit
12), providing critical mobility along one of Georgia’s busiest corridors. The project will employ over 500 workers and include dedicated bus rapid transit stations and key bridge refurbishments, with construction slated to begin in late
2025 and completion anticipated in 2031.
- Support the Procurement Specialist in sourcing and engaging subcontractors and suppliers for the project.
- Research potential subcontractors/suppliers and assist with prequalification processes.
- Issue Requests for Quotations (RFQs) through the tender platform.
- Follow up with subcontractors/suppliers to ensure quotations are received on time.
- Manage and track clarifications, RFIs, and supporting tender documentation.
- Coordinate with technical, construction, and commercial teams during tendering and evaluation stages.
- Organize clarification meetings with subcontractors/suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Assist in the preparation of technical and commercial comparison sheets.
- Support negotiations and recommendations for award processes.
- Prepare subcontract documentation, including scope of work and supporting commercial information.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation.
- Participate in kick‑off meetings with project teams and awarded subcontractors/suppliers.
- Contribute to value engineering and cost‑saving initiatives.
- Build effective working relationships across project teams and external vendors.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or subcontract administration within construction or infrastructure projects.
- Familiarity with tendering processes, supplier coordination, and procurement systems.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Good commercial awareness and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
- Knowledge of construction subcontractor and supplier markets is an advantage.
