- Complete the design of sophisticated systems that integrate hardware and software
- Complete sophisticated material specification, layout/drawing preparation, and appropriate follow‑up
- Make recommendations for ideas related to productivity improvement, cost reduction and improvement in customer satisfaction
- Perform complex technical interchange and knowledge transfer for both processes and application of products to system design
- Identify and resolve more complex problems and apply problem‑solving skills to deal with most situations
- Project Engineering and commissioning at customer sites
- Communicate, train, and work with customers for final system design
- Travel up to 25% to different customer locations/Dematic locations
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred)
- 10+ years of successful experience in the related field and a proven record of the responsibilities and knowledge outlined above; advanced degree may substitute for experience
- Proficient in 3D modeling software and AutoCAD
- Experience in the material handling/automation industry
- Experience in a project‑based Mechanical Engineering position (design to installation)
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to delegate effectively
- Understanding of project schedule and budget for Mechanical Engineering functions
- Capable of leading multiple small or mid‑sized projects
