Structural Engineer
Martin/Martin, Inc. is looking for an experienced structural engineer to join the Construction Engineering Services group in our Atlanta, Georgia office.
As a Project Engineer, you will play a crucial role in our team, applying your expertise and sound judgment to evaluate, select, and implement top-notch structural design techniques. This role involves managing projects from early design through construction as well as fostering strong relationships with clients through communication and high-quality engineering work.

Our structural engineering teams provide custom solutions for new constructions and expansions, with a strong record in notable projects like Coors Field, the Alice L. Walton School of Medicine, and Harbor center.
Responsibilities:
- Engage with clients and contractors as primary point of contact throughout the project life cycle.
- Manage and collaborate with engineering and technician staff to produce high-quality projects.
- Act as a mentor and resource for less experienced staff regarding design techniques, software, and code questions.
- Develop, monitor, and manage project work plans, schedules, and design budgets.
- Uphold quality control by checking calculations, drawings and other documents.
Requirements:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or architecture from an ABET accredited engineering curriculum
- Minimum of 6 years of progressive engineering experience
- 1 year of professional experience equivalencies include a Master's degree in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering, OR passing the 16-hour NCEES structural engineering exam
- Must be eligible to work for any employer in the United States, without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
- Ability to work in the Atlanta area. Relocation reimbursement may be provided, depending on the role and job function.
- Holds a Professional Engineering (PE) license in at least one state
- Proven experience in structural engineering
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Effective at communicating and working with clients, Design Teams, and colleagues
Desired:
- Experience in relevant specialty work, including connection design, erection engineering, misc. metals design, crane design, etc.
- Commitment to meeting quality and financial goals
- Shows strong commitment to continued professional development
- Participating member of at least one professional and/or technical society
- Improves production tools for the betterment of the company
- Demonstrates skill and a positive attitude in completing difficult assignments
- Demonstrates willingness to take on additional work and responsibility
- Passed the 16-hour structural engineering exam
Working Conditions, Skills, and Abilities:
- Move inside or outside the office and on non-ADA accessible construction sites
- Remain stationary for long periods of time
- Repetitive movement on tasks such as using a keyboard or mouse
- Carry, ascend, and descend a ladder
- Identify color
- Read, communicate, and document in English
- Determine and exchange accurate information
- Occasionally move or hold equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
Compensation:
- Base Salary
- Accrued Time:
This is a salaried position with accrued time eligibility. Accrued time allows additional compensation or time-off to be earned for any eligible hours worked exceeding 40 hours per week. - Base Salary Review:
This role is eligible to participate in Martin/Martin's annual base salary increase review process. - Annual Bonus:
This role is eligible to participate in a discretionary annual bonus program.
Base salary review and increases, in addition to annual bonuses, are dependent on various factors, including a hired individual's job-level and annual company performance.
