Senior Manufacturing Development Project Engineer – Atlanta, GA
About the TeamThe Manufacturing Development team defines the ‘What’, ‘When’, ‘Why’ and ‘How’ for manufacturing, from new product development (NPD) and new product introduction (NPI) to manufacturing operations. This role manages the rollout of the Manufacturing Development Process (MDP) across multiple product lines, tracks project progress, health, and risks, develops and deploys business processes and templates, and champions best practices across global manufacturing engineering teams.

This position is based in Atlanta, GA with travel starting at 20% and increasing up to 50% by the end of CY2026. The role focuses on growing and implementing the MDP framework to move manufacturing readiness forward and produce effectively at scale.
What You’ll Do- Introduce the MDP framework to stakeholders and programs, socializing the business process and resources with cross-functional teams.
- Lead Manufacturing Engineering teams through MDP rollout, aligning milestones and establishing accountability.
- Communicate the importance of MDP to technical and non-technical stakeholders, tailoring strategies to stakeholder interests.
- Articulate manufacturing readiness and create data visualization dashboards to highlight risks.
- Facilitate phase gate evaluations, shape presentation content, and provide feedback on best practices.
- Champion initiatives across teams and sites, maintaining strong connection with the HQ MDP team.
- Foster adoption by creating tactical resources and influencing change.
- Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and program managers to understand pain points and support decisions.
- 3+ years in manufacturing engineering, operations, design engineering, change management, project or program management.
- 8+ years overall experience in relevant domains.
- Understanding of the product lifecycle and its phases for manufacturing readiness.
- Strong business acumen with knowledge of hardware engineering and manufacturing.
- Ability to collaborate and influence across all levels and disciplines.
- Proven ability to execute operationally and think strategically.
- Process thinker who is eager to learn new things.
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
- Experience leading organizational change.
- Experience taking new products or production systems from development to full-scale production.
- Deep knowledge of co-design, engineering, and manufacturing phases.

Salary RangeUS Salary Range: $126,000 – $167,000 USD.
