Co‑Op Program Details

The Enovis Co‑Op program is recruiting for positions for the Summer 2026 term. This program requires a commitment to multiple semesters or periods working 40 hrs/week in Atlanta, GA.

The ideal candidate is pursuing a degree in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering.

The Engineering Co‑Op will work within one of the product segments of our Enovis Foot & Ankle division in Atlanta, GA. You will assist Product Development Engineers and the Manager of the product segment with all aspects of projects from proposal to final design/release. This will include working with a cross‑functional team—marketing, manufacturing, regulatory, and QA—to design, develop, and test orthopedic implants and instruments for foot and ankle applications.

Job Title/High Level

Position Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Summer Co‑Op to join our Product Development team. This Co‑Op offers a unique opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in the fast‑paced field of Medical Device Orthopedics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate as an active member of the New Product Development Team:
    • Assist in identifying surgeon requirements and product characteristics.
    • Coordinate with cross‑functional teams (manufacturing, purchasing, regulatory) to complete assigned tasks.
    • Support Product Development Engineers in creating product designs.
    • Use 3‑D modeling to document designs and design changes.
    • Help complete the Design Dossier.
  • Participate in surgeon symposia, focus groups, and KOL meetings.
  • Assist in road‑mapping projects.
  • Attend surgeries for learning purposes.
  • Perform market research to devise solutions to orthopedic/podiatric problems, including customer inquiries and product analysis.
  • Maintain all documentation necessary for a Design History File (DHF): design input documents, validation plans, test protocols, and input/output matrix.
  • Develop detailed engineering drawings, CAD models, and release through ECO system.
  • Work through internal prototype shop or contract vendor on developing prototypes.
  • Schedule and lead product team meetings as needed in the absence of a PD engineer; ensure timely project execution.
  • Maintain existing product lines and write ECOs for general improvement.
  • Follow instructions and pre‑established guidelines to perform job functions.
  • Perform other duties as directed.
