Mechanical Engineer

Job Title: Supplier Development Quality Engineer

Location: Atlanta, GA (100% ON-SITE)

Pay Range: 50K - 85K/Annum

• Drive improvement and corrective action in the quality of components sourced from outside suppliers.
• Provide technical support in the selection of suppliers.
• Develop acceptance criteria for materials and monitor supplier performance to drive corrective action, manufacturing yield issues, and field failures.
• Maintain compliance with applicable corporate and divisional policies and procedures.
• Assess potential new suppliers for technical, quality, and manufacturing capabilities.
• Provide technical support for the introduction of components from new suppliers.
• Generate and maintain incoming inspection procedures and train inspectors to these procedures.
• Develop or source inspection tools and equipment.
• Assist in generating component specifications.
• Generate test protocols, monitor testing, issue qualification test reports, and approve components for use in products.
• Provide input to Design Engineering on new component technology and assist in component selection with quality and reliability analysis.
• Analyze incoming material defects, disposition them, and drive corrective action as necessary; communicate issues to suppliers.
• Review new design specifications and provide input from component quality and manufacturability perspectives.
• Investigate field failures related to supplier materials and develop corrective action plans as necessary.
• Perform this job within a quality system environment.
• Lead medium‑scope project teams and provide guidance to less experienced staff.

• Engineering degree (preferably Mechanical) or equivalent engineering background.
• 3–6 years of related work experience, including at least one year as a supplier quality engineer.
• BS degree in engineering with a good understanding of the specified functional area.
• Local candidates in Atlanta, GA preferred; relocation at own expense acceptable if relocation process is quick.
• Experience with supplier selection, acceptance criteria development, and quality corrective actions.
• Familiarity with quality system environments and regulatory compliance.
