** Job Description*
* Join CDM Smith's Transportation team in Atlanta, GA and shape the future of roadway infrastructure!

Our goal is to improve the long-term mobility of both people and goods through innovative roadway solutions. Our team comprises technical specialists with extensive knowledge in roadway design, traffic engineering, intelligent transportation systems, and transportation infrastructure!

-You will be developing large-scale roadway projects such as highways, arterial corridors, and complex traffic networks to meet client project requirements.

-Reviewing draft designs for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and signing off on completed designs.

-Ensuring that firm policies and practices are followed on all designs.

-Signs and seals engineering designs as necessary.

-Conducts comprehensive site assessments and traffic studies to evaluate existing conditions and ensure designs align with roadway functionality and community needs.

-Updates design requirements as necessary.

-Inspects new construction and existing transportation structures as necessary.

-Collaborates with sales staff to create proposals in response to current and potential client requests for proposals (RFPs).

-Reviews draft proposals for adherence to firm, industry, state, local, and federal regulations, and best practices.

-Meets with current and potential future clients to review their current and future design needs.

-Attends conferences, symposia, etc. to improve the visibility of the firm's products and services in collaboration with applicable sales staff.

-Provides technical guidance and training to more junior staff. Mentors more junior staff and develops them for future growth within the discipline and firm. May supervise the work of junior engineers on project work.

** Qualifications*
* Bachelor's degree in Civil, Transportation, or Structural Engineering or related discipline. Professional engineering (PE) license. 7 years of related experience. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

* * Civil 3D

** Skills & Abilities*
* Expert proficiency in CADD software (3D and 4D modeling) with strong application to roadway design projects. Advanced knowledge of civil engineering design principles and roadway systems. Expert proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local transportation regulations. Advanced knowledge of roadway design standards (AASHTO, NACTO, ITE standards).

* 10% or less
