Senior Water/Wastewater Process Engineer
Location:
Houston, Texas, United States
$120,800 - $217,400 per year
Job SummaryLead the design and implementation of advanced water/wastewater treatment systems, manage projects, ensure regulatory compliance, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the design and development of raw water and wastewater treatment processes, including pump stations, coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation, ozone treatment, filtration, and chemical systems.
- Manage and oversee engineering projects, ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, and quality standards.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ensure all designs and processes comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Work closely with clients to understand their needs, provide technical solutions, and maintain strong relationships.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and sustainability.
- 10+ years of experience in water/wastewater process design, with strong emphasis on treatment processes.
- Proficiency in designing raw water pump stations, coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation, ozone treatment, filtration, chemical metering pumps, transfer pumps, and chloramine systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field;
Master’s degree preferred. - Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Experience with engineering design software such as AutoCAD, WaterCAD, or equivalent tools.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated problem‑solving ability and innovative solution development.
- Extensive experience in water treatment processes.
- Proven track record of leading engineering teams and managing large‑scale projects.
- Knowledge of sustainable engineering practices and environmental impact reduction.
