The engineer is expected to work with increasing independence and take on greater technical ownership of project tasks and deliverables.

You will contribute to projects for clients such as MARTA, the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC), Georgia DOT (GDOT), and the City of Atlanta Department of Transportation (ATLDOT). • Prepare complete streets and multimodal corridor designs integrating pedestrian, bicycle, and transit accommodations in compliance with ADA and applicable federal, state, and local standards.
  • Prepare construction plans, specifications, cost estimates, and contract documents for roadway, transit, and active transportation projects; perform and support technical reviews of work prepared by junior staff.
  • Review draft designs for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and ensure firm policies and practices are followed on all designs.
  • Apply sound engineering judgment to resolve design challenges of moderate complexity on multimodal and transit projects, escalating more complex issues to senior staff as appropriate.
  • Conduct site investigations, field reviews, and studies to ensure designs are aligned with location specifications; update design requirements as necessary.
  • Inspect new construction and existing transportation structures as necessary.
  • Support coordination with MARTA, GDOT, ATLDOT, and ARC project managers, stakeholders, regulatory agencies, and community partners throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including traffic, structural, landscape architecture, and environmental disciplines.
  • Contribute to the firm's technical knowledge management (TKM) by developing white papers and technical design documentation for new or special‑case designs, studies, and innovative solutions.
  • Submit technical papers and designs for publication in professional and technical journals; attend conferences, symposia, and industry events to advance the visibility of the firm's products and services.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to junior engineering staff; review the work of more junior staff.
  • Contribute to technical reports, presentations, and public and stakeholder engagement materials.
  • Perform other duties as required.
