Senior Building Envelope & Curtain Wall Consultant

We are currently seeking a Building Technology Consultant in Atlanta, GA.The ideal candidate will act as a project manager for small to medium-sized projects, focusing on new construction design and evaluating, investigating, and designing repairs for existing buildings. This position involves overseeing multiple projects, coordinating staff, and maintaining strong client relationships. Active involvement in industry associations, committees, and technical organizations related to building technology is also required.

Key responsibilities:

Responsibilities include assisting senior staff with design development, site investigations, and documentation of existing conditions. The consultant will investigate and remediate building envelope failures, provide design consultation to architects, and assist contractors with construction. This role involves analyzing building envelope systems such as wall claddings, roofing systems, windows, and waterproofing elements.

The consultant will conduct field investigations and testing for roofing and waterproofing assemblies, curtain wall systems, windows, and other exterior components. They will also design remedial repairs for walls, roofs, waterproofing systems, and curtain wall assemblies, as well as provide support during the construction phase.

Additional duties include peer reviews, litigation support, mentoring junior staff, and collaborating within teams. Strong communication skills, the ability to meet deadlines, and proficiency with technical documentation tools are required.

Qualifications:

Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Architectural Engineering, with a Master’s degree preferred. They should also have at least 5 years of relevant experience and a Professional Engineer or Registered Architect license. Experience in curtain wall design, historic preservation, rope access, or public speaking is a plus.

This role involves climbing ladders and scaffolds, working at heights, and traveling to project sites as needed.
