Senior Civil Designer

A client of I.K. Hofmann's is looking to expand their engineering team to support solid waste and landfill projects. This role involves planning, design, and modification of landfill infrastructure, with a focus on drafting and engineering support. Collaborate with a diverse team to create detailed design plans and technical documents using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and ArcGIS.

• Prepare engineering drawings and construction plans for landfill projects
• Develop designs for landfill cells, grading systems, and gas collection systems
• Utilize Civil 3D and ArcGIS for design visualization and spatial data management
• Coordinate with team members to ensure regulatory compliance
• Assist with permit drawings and construction documentation
• Interpret survey and geotechnical data for design integration
• Support construction-phase services and maintain drafting standards

• Associate’s degree or certification in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or Civil Design
• 5+ years of experience in civil/site drafting and design
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and ArcGIS
• Experience in landfill design and operations
• Strong understanding of grading, slope stability, and landfill systems
• Excellent organizational, communication, and teamwork skills

• Experience with landfill permitting and regulatory compliance
• Familiarity with solid waste regulations
• Experience with drone mapping, GPS, or surveying
• Knowledge of hydrology or geotechnical coordination
