Job SummaryThe Engineer 1 – Design Contractor supports the planning, design, and development of technical standards for natural gas distribution infrastructure projects. This role is ideal for a motivated, detail-oriented engineer with strong interpersonal skills and a desire to contribute to the advancement of safe, efficient gas delivery systems. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to think critically, work independently, and communicate effectively across teams.
Key Responsibilities- Support gas storage and fueling station design assignments.
- Design pipeline components, mechanical systems, and functionality.
- Assist in planning and designing mechanical equipment and support maintenance activities.
- Perform system balances to assess and resolve pipeline system challenges.
- Provide field support and oversight during construction activities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, or General required).
- 1–3 years of progressive engineering experience in design or related field.
- Equivalent academic education and experience will be considered.
- Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) Certification preferred.
- Strong project management and task prioritization skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication with the ability to engage across all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (advanced Excel skills required).
- Basic proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
- Intermediate proficiency in CAD/GIS platforms for design and mapping.
- Customer-focused, critical thinker, with initiative and adaptability.
- Proven ability to collaborate within a matrix organizational structure.
- Self-starter who takes initiative with minimal supervision.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to resolve complex issues with internal and external stakeholders.
- Committed to safety, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Eager to learn and contribute to projects that directly support America’s critical energy infrastructure.
