Roles and ResponsibilitiesWe are seeking a Process Controls Specialist within our Process Control team located at Allentown, PA. This position requires up to 30% domestic/global travel.
Required Skills / Abilities- Managing, setup, and maintenance of computer labs and storage areas for the Process Controls team.
- Installation, configuration, and testing of Process Controls system software and hardware.
- Supporting and participating in Process Control Panel FAT.
- Performing electrical testing, diagnosing and fixing low‑voltage wiring and circuits.
- Use of tools including multimeter, amp meter, 4‑20mA simulator, RTDs and other test equipment.
- Managing tools and test equipment (hardware and software).
- Managing supplies and inventory of DCS components and related equipment.
- Participating in site acceptance testing, managing loop checks and other activities during plant commissioning.
- Supporting procurement, shipping and receiving of DCS equipment.
- Other activities may include participating in developing process controls documentation and deliverables.
- Participating in SIL assessments.
- Participating in control system specification, design, programming, testing, and startup.
- Participating in or supporting projects.
- An associate degree in Information Sciences & Technology, Electro‑Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electronics Technology, Process Controls, or equivalent qualification or experience.
- Must demonstrate technical competence, leadership skills and effective communication.
- Must be a strong teammate willing to accept responsibility and learn new technical skills.
- Must work safely and comply with all Air Products policies and procedures.
- Must possess good problem‑solving abilities, ambition and excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work well within a multidisciplinary design team across multiple geographies and liaise directly with suppliers.
- Understanding of electrical schematics.
- Capable of diagnosing and fixing low‑voltage wiring.
