Senior Designer - Electrical

Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Designer to join our Buildings, Energy and Infrastructure (BEI) Group in our new Atlanta office. This is a mid‑level career opportunity for a CAD Specialist to work on advanced CAD drawings for renewable energy systems from large‑scale commercial to utility scale. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate as part of an interdisciplinary cross‑engineering team which includes mechanical, structural, survey and civil disciplines.

• 6+ years of experience in CAD design.
• Exposure and some experience in CAD drawings as they relate to distributed energy resources (DER).
• Experience using AutoCAD and/or Revit software is necessary.
• Some exposure to NEC, NESC, and IEEE codes and standards is welcome.
• Some exposure to MV and substation interconnection/protection is welcome.
• Willing communicator and able to ask questions when necessary.
• Enjoys working alone when required but can work effectively on a project team.
• Able to complete work consistently with flexibility to accommodate varying project demands.
• Must maintain a high level of precision and accuracy and be methodical in approach to work; you appreciate checklists.
• Any interest in pursuing an engineering career will be supported as well.

• Provides technical and design services in support of power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and telecommunication systems for design projects as part of a multi‑discipline project team to produce electrical design/construction drawings and specifications for institutional, commercial and industrial facilities.
• Will be responsible for completing design tasks within budget and on schedule and communicating with Project Manager, Sr. Electrical Engineer and design team to complete work efficiently.
