Overview
HW VnV Engineer – Hardware Verification and Validation for aerospace applications. Develop and execute Python-based validation scripts to test and troubleshoot low-level hardware interfaces and embedded systems. Work independently in a laboratory environment while collaborating with cross-functional engineering and product teams.

Your roleDevelop, maintain, and execute Python-based hardware validation scripts. Perform board-level and interface-level testing for embedded hardware systems.
Translate hardware requirements into test procedures and pass/fail criteria. Validate and troubleshoot interfaces including UART, RS-422/485, SPI, I2C, GPIO, Ethernet, and CAN.
Use lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, DMMs, power supplies, and signal generators. Diagnose and isolate hardware, firmware, test script, and test setup issues.
Conduct root-cause analysis and drive issue resolution. Create clean, maintainable Python code with robust logging and error handling. Utilize Git for version control and participate in code reviews.
Maintain test documentation, traceability, and execution reports. Support test automation improvements to increase reliability and efficiency. Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and provide regular project status updates.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field or equivalent work experience.
3+ years of experience in hardware validation, testing, or automation. Basic Python scripting for hardware testing and validation.
Hands-on experience with board-level debugging and hardware troubleshooting. Strong knowledge of hardware communication protocols, including UART, RS-422/485, SPI, I2C, GPIO, Ethernet, and CAN.
Experience using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, DMMs, power supplies, and signal generators.
Ability to create test plans, execute tests, and analyze results. Experience with Git and software development best practices.
Knowledge of aerospace or safety-critical standards such as DO-178C is highly preferred.
Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently in a lab environment.
The base compensation range for this role in the posted location is: $73,150 - $174,000. Capgemini provides compensation range information in accordance with applicable laws. The actual compensation offered will be determined based on multiple factors legally permitted in the applicable jurisdiction. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for additional compensation such as variable incentives, bonuses, or commissions, depending on the position and applicable laws.
