OverviewWe have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Designer to join our Buildings, Energy and Infrastructure (BEI) Group in our new Atlanta office. This is a mid-level career opportunity for a CAD Specialist to work on advanced CAD drawings for renewable energy systems from large-scale commercial to utility scale. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate as part of an interdisciplinary cross-engineering team which includes mechanical, structural, survey and civil disciplines.
Whatyou’ll need
- 6+ years of experience in CAD design.
- You have exposure and some experience in CAD drawings as they relate to distributed energy resources (DER).
- Experience using AutoCAD and/or Revit software is necessary.
- Some exposure with the NEC, NESC, and IEEE codes and standards is welcome.
- Some exposure to MV and substation interconnection/protection is welcome.
- Willing communicator and able to ask questions when necessary.
- Enjoys working alone when required but can work effectively on a project team.
- Able to complete work consistently with flexibility to accommodate varying project demands.
- Must maintain a high level of precision and accuracy and be methodical in approach to work; you appreciate checklists.
- Any interest in pursuing an engineering career will be supported as well.
- Provides technical and design services in support of power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and telecommunication systems for design projects as part of a multi-discipline project team to produce electrical design/construction drawings and specifications for institutional, commercial and industrial facilities.
- Will be responsible for completing design tasks within budget and on schedule and communicating with Project Manager, Sr. Electrical Engineer and design team to complete work efficiently.
