Sr. Engineer Mechanical - Towels & Wipers

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, optimize, and troubleshoot manufacturing and support processes to meet safety and performance standards.
• Identify, resolve process and equipment issues, and create practical, cost‑effective designs that meet expectations.
• Apply engineering and scientific analysis principles, follow engineering standards and procedures.
• Maintain organized documentation for easy retrieval and proprietary information protection.
• Lead projects and support the Project Engineering team, including leading products, process improvement, capacity, or cost‑savings projects valued at more than $1million from concept through commercialization.
• Provide functional leadership and creative direction in the design, development, and optimization of high‑speed converting equipment to meet unit objectives.
• Perform all job responsibilities safely; develop equipment and processes that comply with safety codes, policies, and guidelines to protect operators, maintenance teams, and other personnel.
• Identify, define, and resolve problems to achieve unit objectives, including root cause of complex technical issues.
• Develop others within your areas of expertise, support loss control improvement, and ensure compliance with critical safety rules and internal controls.
• Communicate effectively with leaders, team members, and others, ensuring information is timely, complete, concise, accurate, clear, and responsive.
• Improve process capability to reduce defects and variability and implement products, processes, materials, systems, and procedures that support business objectives.

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or Pulp & Paper from an accredited college or university.
• 8+ years of experience across technical or operational roles.
• Strong proficiency with manufacturing analysis tools, including statistical process control, design of experiments, process capability studies, Six Sigma, and lean manufacturing.
• Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively to deliver projects on time.
• Working knowledge of Lean principles, with the ability to coach and develop others.
• Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.
• Experience collaborating with external technical service providers.

Grade 9 compensation may vary; salary range for US locations: USD 105,740 – 130,620. Compensation may vary by location, role, skills, performance, and experience.
