Job Description
The Restoration Consultant will develop engineering plans for large complex projects, including project budgets, staffing requirements, and schedules. The role is responsible for managing a workload of approximately $250,000 in net revenue per year. Responsibilities include independently collecting data for the evaluation of existing structures or new construction (surveys, codes, soil reports, previous consultant reports, and other relevant documents), performing condition appraisals, developing repair schemes and recommendations, estimating probable construction costs, and managing projects through investigation, contractor administration, bidding, and on‑site observations.
The consultant will schedule quality review and advisory meetings, maintain relationships with existing clients, market additional services, and develop leads for new and repeat work.
Technical environment:
MathCAD, ADAPT, ENERCALC, ETABS, SAP
2000, SAFE, AutoCAD, Revit, and design skills in concrete, steel, masonry, timber, and carbon fiber reinforced polymer laminates. Writing technical forensic reports and structural restoration are core skill areas.
- Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field plus at least 2 years of experience in structural design engineering.
- For those with a bachelor’s degree, a minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in structural design engineering is acceptable.
- Georgia Professional Engineer license required.
- Experience with MathCAD, ADAPT, ENERCALC, ETABS, SAP
2000, SAFE, AutoCAD, Revit, and associated design tools. - 20% local domestic travel to project sites as needed.
- Salary range: $113,402 – $130,000 per year, plus benefits.
