Project Manager - Water​/Wastewater

Opportunity Overview

Black & Veatch is an employee‑owned engineering, procurement, consulting and construction company with expertise in water and wastewater infrastructure. The Project Manager role is a leadership position within the Water & Wastewater business, responsible for leading multi‑million‑dollar water infrastructure projects in the Atlanta area.

• Serve on the Water / Wastewater business leadership team.
• Manage the delivery of water‑related infrastructure projects, ensuring successful completion in scope, schedule, cost, quality, and safety.
• Lead client engagement activities, develop proposals, and support business development efforts.
• Oversee project performance, including budgeting, invoicing, payments, and project performance reviews.
• Provide engineering oversight, develop project performance goals, and ensure implementation.
• Collaborate with the internal project team and owner representatives on project activities.
• Mentor, coach, and develop project staff, recommending training, promotion, and new candidates.

• Professional Engineer (PE) License.
• Ten or more years of civil engineering design experience, including conceptual planning, preliminary and final design in water and wastewater treatment, master planning, water main, water facilities, pump stations, and conveyance.
• Experience with BIM‑developed projects.
• Advanced knowledge of engineering design principles and applicable design guides and standards for the assigned discipline.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Ability to complete pre‑employment onboarding, including background check, drug screen, and motor‑vehicle records search where required.

• Hybrid or flexible work options available after 90 days, based on manager discretion.
• Typical office and construction environments with exposure to extreme weather, high noise, electrical hazards, scaffolding, high places, chemicals, fumes, dust, and other atmospheric conditions.
• Tasks include sitting, walking, talking, reading, writing, keyboarding, driving, filing, reaching, stooping, crouching, bending, standing, and lifting up to 40 pounds.
