Engineer 1 - ENG1
Location:
Atlanta, GA (30309)
Duration: 2 Years
Summary:
The Engineer 1 position requires 0-5 years of related experience and an accredited bachelor’s degree. Responsible for applying engineering processes, design criteria, and software applications to design and construct power related systems. Supports estimate preparation, develops design options, and prepares construction specifications. Provide guidance, oversight, and quality assurance reviews for approved contractors as they develop design solutions, cost estimates, and construction packages.
Job Duties:
- Creating a safe work environment by putting safety first.
- Understanding the process used for planning, design, operation, construction, and maintenance.
- Understanding the functions and activities of various internal departments involved in design, construction, and maintenance.
- Understanding design practices and work processes.
- Using all software applications used in design.
- Understanding industry and design standards.
- Supporting design standard and criteria development for the system.
- Supporting construction and maintenance teams during day-to-day operations.
- Estimating material for projects.
- Transmitting construction packages and supporting specifications.
Preferred
Skills:
- Introductory engineering knowledge.
- Basic problem-solving skills.
- Ability to make independent decisions based on procedures and supervisor review.
- Basic discipline software knowledge, Strong work ethic and Positive attitude.
- Ability to build effective relationships with plant staff, design engineering staff, and/or vendors.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering with ABET Accreditation (Required).
- Preferred:
Civil, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering degree. - Preferred:
Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification. - Preferred:
Prior internship or co-op experience in an engineering field.
Specific Skills & Knowledge:
Required:
- Ability to read and interpret engineering plans (Intermediate to advanced proficiency).
- MS Office proficiency (Intermediate level).
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
Preferred:
- CAD/GIS basic proficiency.
- Hydraulic analysis experience.
- Project Management skills.
