Job Summary

Johnson Service Group (JSG) is a nationally recognized professional staffing and recruiting firm seeking an experienced Engineer 1 to fill a two-year contract assignment in the Atlanta, GA area.

This position may require some bending, lifting, climbing, prolonged sitting, prolonged walking, walking on gravel or crawling when necessary.

Work Location:

Atlanta, GA

• 0-5 years of related experience and an accredited bachelor’s degree with a focus in Mechanical, Civil or General engineering
• Introductory engineering knowledge
• Basic problem‑solving skills
• Limited discretion making independent decisions based on procedure and review with supervisor
• Basic discipline software knowledge
• Strong work ethic
• Positive attitude
• The ability to build effective relationships with plant staff, design engineering staff and/or vendors

• Applying engineering processes, design criteria, and software applications to design and construct power‑related systems
• Supporting estimate preparation, developing design options, and preparing construction specifications
• Providing guidance, oversight, and quality assurance reviews for approved contractors as they develop design solutions, cost estimates, and construction packages
• Creating a safe work environment by putting safety first
• Understanding the process used for planning, design, construction, and maintenance
• Understanding the functions and activities of various internal departments involved in design, construction, and maintenance
• Understanding design practices and work processes, using all software applications used in design
• Understanding industry and Company design standards
• Supporting design standard and criteria development for the system
• Supporting construction and maintenance teams during day‑to‑day operations
• Estimating material for projects
• Transmitting construction packages and supporting specifications
