Hire Living is partnering with a well-established engineering and commissioning firm in the Atlanta area to identify a talented HVAC Mechanical Engineer. Essential Duties

• Perform commissioning and functional performance testing of large scale HVAC systems including chillers, cooling towers, pumps, air handling units, and central plant infrastructure
• Must have experience working with multiple chillers ranging from 500 to 2,000 tons each, with total plant capacities ranging from approximately 5,000 to 50,000+ tons
• Validate performance of chilled water systems, condenser water systems, and air distribution systems across large facilities
• Work with and verify redundant HVAC systems designed for mission critical environments to ensure continuous operation and failover capability
• Review, interpret, and validate sequences of operation within advanced Building Automation Systems (BAS)
• Identify system deficiencies, troubleshoot performance issues, and support corrective actions during commissioning and turnover
• Work within high volume documentation environments including commissioning scripts, reports, and test procedures

Required experience

• Mechanical Engineer with experience in HVAC systems, commissioning, or large scale commercial or institutional projects
• Strong experience with central plant systems, chilled water systems, and high capacity HVAC infrastructure
• Familiarity with mission critical environments such as government facilities, data centers, healthcare, or military projects
• Working knowledge of BAS controls, system integration, and sequences of operation
• Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and control strategies
