Meta is seeking a data center facility project manager to join our data center facility operations team. Our data centers serve as the foundation upon which our software operates to meet the demands of our customers. The Facility Project Manager is accountable for the portfolio of physical infrastructure projects on an operational data center campus and for ensuring that the global retrofit standard is properly implemented across the site portfolio.
The portfolio includes projects in electrical, mechanical, control, and fire / life safety systems requiring familiarity with these disciplines.
- The responsibilities of this role include coordination and prioritization of a wide range of project planning and execution, developing project charters, work breakdown structures, and resource-loaded schedules.
- The role requires proficiency in communicating issues and successes with respective operation groups.
- The Facility Project Manager will coordinate all required resources necessary for successfully executing the retrofit portfolio at the site, providing prioritization of work with cross-functional partners.
- Experience in comprehending plans, specifications, and equipment shop drawings.
- Experience communicating project status, risks, and priorities to cross-functional stakeholders such as engineering, operations, and construction teams.
- Experience forecasting project budgets, schedules, and resources.
- Familiar with Electrical, Mechanical, Controls, and fire and life safety systems, and applicable building codes.
- 7+ years of project management experience in any combination of construction, operations, maintenance, and project planning in complex environments.
- Proficiency with one or more Project Management IT toolsets (i.e., Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, Procore, e-builder, etc.).
- Bachelor’s degree related field and 3+ years relevant industry experience will be considered in lieu of 7+ years industry experience.
- Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements).
- Experience managing vendor sourcing and contract administration.
- Retrofit portfolio management experience.
- Proficiency with maintenance planning tools such as Hexagon, SAP, etc.
- 10+ years’ experience working in the Environmental, Health and Safety field.
- PMP or equivalent Project Management certification.
- Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews).
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as engineering or project management.
- Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies.
- Experience in critical environment projects.
