Senior Project Manager – Water/Wastewater
Location:
Atlanta, GA
Garver is seeking an experienced Senior Water/Wastewater Project Manager to join the Water Team located in our Atlanta, GA office. The successful candidate will be responsible for the hands‑on management of water and wastewater projects through all phases of delivery, including development, design, construction, and transition to operation. The role also involves building and maintaining outstanding client relationships, contributing to business development, and learning and mentoring as part of a full‑services team.
ProjectScope
- Water distribution, including pumping and storage
- Sewer distribution, collection, and pumping
- Water and wastewater treatment plants
- Improvements and retrofitting of existing water infrastructure facilities
- Support business development activities and proposal development efforts.
- Lead and support conceptual planning studies.
- Develop and manage detailed project delivery assumptions, scope of work, level of effort, and associated man‑hour estimates.
- Scope, fee, and contract development services.
- Show technical competency in water or wastewater engineering and civil engineering.
- Manage multiple projects concurrently, ensuring timely completion and quality of work product.
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date project accounting.
- Conduct written and oral project reporting for clients and team leader (design status, milestones, accounting, progress, etc.).
- Prepare and execute Quality Assurance and Quality Control Plans.
- Lead internal and external project workshops.
- Continuously pursue industry professional development and continuing education.
- Oversee construction management (excluding construction observation) for local projects.
- Travel as required for project work, conferences, and other duties.
- Represent Garver as a subject‑matter expert at industry conferences.
- Complete detailed design calculations, drawings, and specifications.
- Schedule, manage, and coordinate support disciplines and sub‑consultants.
- Facilitate stakeholder engagement activities.
- Obtain permitting approval with regulatory agencies.
- Manage quality assurance and risk management.
- Facilitate workshops with clients.
- Contractor pre‑qualification and bid evaluation.
- Participate in facilitated teaming activities.
- Technical review of submittals and RFIs.
- Provide construction phase engineering support.
- Maintain scheduling, management, and coordination of support disciplines and sub‑consultants.
- Track progress and provide communications.
- Manage owner training program.
- Oversee equipment, instrument, and device checkout and performance validation.
- Integrate control systems and HMI.
- Schedule, manage, and coordinate support disciplines and sub‑consultants.
- Perform contract closeout.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil, biological, or environmental engineering from an ABET‑accredited program.
- 10+ years of water and wastewater technical project experience and 3+ years in team leadership.
- Registered as a Professional Engineer (PE).
- Previous experience in responsible charge of designs, including detailed plans and specifications, for water and wastewater collection, distribution, pumping, and/or treatment projects.
- Strong understanding of multi‑disciplined practices (process, surveying, geotechnical, structural, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and control) required for implementation of water and wastewater infrastructure improvements.
- Master’s Degree in civil, biological, or environmental engineering from an ABET‑accredited program.
- 12+ years of water and wastewater technical project experience and 2+ years in team leadership.
- Registered as a Professional Engineer (PE) in Georgia.
- Software proficiency in water industry hydraulic or process modeling.
