SummaryEngineer II independently executes engineering tasks, manages components of projects, and coordinates with multidisciplinary teams. Under minimal supervision, this role leads the design, analysis, and implementation of MEP-T systems for small to medium-sized projects and represents the firm to clients in that scope. In our Atlanta office.
Responsibilities- Lead the design of discipline-specific systems for small to medium projects using Revit and modeling/calculation tools.
- Assist senior engineers with complex designs, plans, and calculations.
- Perform calculations and simulations.
- Review product submittals and shop drawings.
- Respond to RFIs for assigned scope.
- Conduct site visits and prepare reports.
- Prepare technical documentation and participate in project meetings.
- Ensure project delivery within agreed schedules and budgets.
- Comply with QA/QC procedures and assist in developing project workplans.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, or Communications Engineering.
- Relevant professional licensure or certification preferred (EIT, PE, CPD, FPE, RCDD, etc.).
- 3+ years of engineering experience in the AEC industry.
- Proficient in Revit and discipline-specific software.
- Strong grasp of building codes and design standards.
- Capable of guiding junior staff and leading internal reviews.
- Able to balance multiple priorities effectively.
- Skilled in preparing reports, proposals, and client communications.
- Comfortable representing the firm to clients for smaller projects.
Supervisory Responsibility
No direct reports but may mentor junior engineers or interns.
Work EnvironmentOffice-based with regular site visits; must adhere to safety requirements.
Physical DemandsAbility to sit/stand for long periods, use standard office equipment, and occasionally lift/move up to 25 lbs. Site visits may involve ladders, uneven terrain, and varied weather.
