Civil Engineer

Leidos seeks a Civil Engineer to support Aviation projects within our Engineering & Architecture team. You will plan, design, and oversee airport-related infrastructure including runways, taxiways, drainage, and site/civil works. Responsibilities include preparing construction documents, performing calculations, coordinating with architects and multidiscipline engineers, and supporting permitting and compliance with FAA and local regulations. You'll collaborate with internal and client stakeholders, help solve complex infrastructure challenges, and contribute to safe, efficient aviation facilities in a mission driven, innovation focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and design airport and airfield civil infrastructure (runways, taxiways, aprons, site works).
• Prepare drawings, specifications, and engineering calculations for construction packages.
• Apply FAA, state, and local standards to ensure compliant, safe aviation facilities.
• Perform grading, drainage, and pavement design, including stormwater analysis.
• Coordinate with architects, structural, electrical, and other engineering disciplines.
• Support permitting, technical reports, and responses to regulatory comments.
• Assist with cost estimates, schedules, and design reviews throughout the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate with project managers and clients to define requirements and resolve design issues.
