Project Manager
- Mechanical
We are seeking a results-driven Project Manager
- Mechanical to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of mechanical construction projects with a focus on HVAC systems. The role is responsible for ensuring projects meet scope, budget, schedule, quality, and safety objectives while maintaining strong client relationships and coordinating interdisciplinary teams. The ideal candidate will have proven HVAC and project management experience and familiarity with construction environments, mechanical systems, data centers, and process piping is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end management of mechanical projects, including HVAC design review, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and resource plans to achieve target milestones and financial objectives.
- Coordinate and manage subcontractors, vendors, and internal discipline leads; oversee contractor selection, performance, and compliance with specifications.
- Serve as the primary client contact for project status, technical clarifications, change orders, and issue resolution; maintain strong client relationships.
- Ensure quality control and compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications (e.g., ASHRAE, NFPA, local building codes).
- Oversee site activities to enforce health, safety, and environmental policies and ensure a safe worksite.
- Review and approve technical submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, and test plans; facilitate coordination between design, construction, and commissioning teams.
- Manage change order processes, risk identification and mitigation, and implement corrective actions to keep projects on track.
- Prepare regular project reports, progress updates, financial summaries, and closeout documentation.
- Support continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned, implementing best practices, and mentoring junior project staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- Minimum 5 years of project management experience in mechanical construction with demonstrable HVAC project leadership (required).
- Proven experience managing budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and client communications as a Project Manager (required).
- Working knowledge of mechanical systems, HVAC equipment, controls, and commissioning processes.
- Experience in construction environments and familiarity with mechanical trades, procurement, and site logistics (nice to have).
- Experience with data center mechanical systems and processing piping projects is desirable (nice to have).
- PMP, CCM, or equivalent project management certification is a plus.
- Strong proficiency with project management tools (MS Project, Primavera, or similar), Microsoft Office, and familiarity with BIM/CAD workflows.
- Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and negotiation skills; ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required, valid drivers license, and ability to pass site safety and background checks.
