Position Summary/responsibilities:

  • Plan and support minor and major equipment outages across generation facilities.
  • Lead the design, selection, installation, and optimization of major mechanical equipment and systems.
  • Provide technical expertise for predictive and preventive maintenance work orders within the plant computer maintenance management system.
  • Review and monitor annual mechanical inspections to identify reliability, maintenance, and performance improvement opportunities.
  • Review drawings, specifications, design calculations, and engineering analyses for generation projects in development or under construction.
  • Support the development, justification, budgeting, and execution of capital projects focused on long-term plant reliability and system performance.
  • Provide oversight of contractors, including engineering firms, construction teams, and maintenance vendors.
  • Partner with plant managers and internal stakeholders to evaluate system performance, troubleshoot issues, and recommend mechanical design or maintenance improvements.
Required Qualifications / skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology;
    Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of engineering experience, including experience supporting commercial electric power generation facilities.
  • Minimum 5 years of preventive and predictive maintenance experience in an operating power generation environment.
  • Strong technical and business understanding of generating plant operations, performance, economics, planning, budgeting, maintenance strategy, and maintenance analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical system design, balance of plant systems, rotating equipment, and power generation equipment reliability.
  • Ability to manage contractor relationships and provide oversight to engineering, construction, and maintenance partners.
  • Ability to travel approximately 20-30% depending on project demands.
Nice to Have

Qualifications:
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license.
  • Level II Vibration Analyst certification.
  • Experience designing, analyzing, and maintaining mechanical systems in hydroelectric plants.
  • Knowledge of hydroelectric systems, including penstocks, wicket gates, inlet valves, runners, and spiral cases.
  • Proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD or Solid Works.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to hydroelectric power generation.
Compensation:

$60/hr to $80/hr.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
