Role SummaryLucid Scientific is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to assist with the ongoing scale-up of its manufacturing. This is a new position reporting to the Vice President of Operations. As a key member of Lucid’s growing team, the Manufacturing Engineer will support production, develop and sustain manufacturing processes, design and prototype product improvements and help build scalable manufacturing processes.
A successful candidate must have strong hands‑on mechanical aptitude. Much of the role’s responsibilities will be in diagnosing, repairing, and designing improvements to devices and manufacturing equipment. Experience building, repairing, or modifying mechanical, electrical, or other physical systems, in or out of a workplace setting, is essential.
This is a demanding role with high growth potential- a motivated and capable employee will have the ability to quickly advance and take on significant responsibility.
Key Responsibilities Include:- Provide technical support for manufacturing processes in production.
- Diagnose and repair failed devices and hardware. Design preventive improvements to hardware or processes to prevent future failures.
- Assist in the design, prototyping, and testing of design improvements to Lucid devices and manufacturing methods.
- Assess product and process non-conformances; develop and implement changes to correct and prevent non-conformances in the manufacturing process
- Create, maintain, and improve documentation for standard operating procedures for manufacturing processes.
- Drive continuous improvement of the manufacturing process
Experience:
- At least 1 year experience in a related role
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline
- Hands‑on mechanical or electrical experience- see note in role summary
- A self-starter who is accountable, results-oriented and motivated by a challenge
- Strong organizational skills
- Preferred: CNC machining, CAD, CAM experience, especially milling.

Experience operating under a Quality Management System (ISO 9001, ISO 13485, FDA, etc.)
