HIRING:
Project Engineer 1 – High Voltage Substations | Atlanta, GA
We’re seeking an experienced Project Engineer with a strong background in high-voltage utility substation engineering to join a growing engineering team in Atlanta, GA.
This is an excellent opportunity for an electrical engineer who enjoys being hands-on with design while also managing projects from planning through construction and closeout.
Work Model:
Hybrid – 2 days/week in office; remote flexibility available
Hours:
8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with flexibility
- Manage high-voltage substation projects from planning through design, permitting, construction support, and closeout
- Oversee and review detailed engineering and design work
- Develop and/or review:
- Substation physical layouts
- Schematics
- Engineering calculations and specifications
- Support EPC proposals, estimates, and project controls
- Coordinate with internal engineering teams, contractors, utilities, government agencies, and other stakeholders
- Monitor project budgets, schedules, quality, and regulatory compliance
- Provide construction support and technical guidance throughout project execution
- Maintain project documentation, status reports, and engineering records
- Take ownership of the quality and accuracy of engineering deliverables
- 5+ years of experience in the electric utility industry
- Significant experience with high-voltage electrical substations
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
- Strong understanding of utility engineering and construction standards
- Experience with detailed substation engineering/design
- AutoCAD Electrical experience required
- Experience with Substation Design Suite (SDS) is a strong plus
- PE license is a plus
- Knowledge of applicable industry standards including ANSI, ASTM, ACI, AISC, IEEE, NEC, and NESC
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a complex environment
- Strong communication, collaboration, and customer-facing skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a growing team
The Atlanta team is expanding and expects to add multiple Project Engineers as the business continues to grow.
