Your impact
Jacobs is seeking an enthusiastic, highly organized, team-oriented NEPA Analyst to support federal, state, and local environmental projects in our Southeast Environmental Planning & Permitting (EPP) sector. You’ll have the opportunity to work with a team of NEPA analysts across the southeastern US and assist in the preparation of complex EISs, EAs, and other federal and state-level environmental compliance documents in various project planning stages. You’ll work with scientists, planners, engineers, and communications specialists to prepare technical studies and conduct public involvement and agency coordination in support of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and in accordance with all state-level environmental documentation requirements.
You’ll have the opportunity to work with teams along the East Coast and throughout the nation, providing support for planning, engineering, and construction services to federal, civilian, and other government and commercial clients. The ideal candidate would be strongly familiar with Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) environmental reporting procedures and state/federal environmental permitting requirements and have experience working with environmental project teams on both Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build projects.
you'll do
- Prepare NEPA documents, including Categorical Exclusions (CEs), Environmental Assessments (EAs), and Environmental Impact Statements (EISs) for both Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build projects
- Coordinate with engineers on the development of avoidance alternatives and minimization measures for environmental and community resources impacted by infrastructure projects
- Lead or support public engagement and stakeholder coordination activities
- Develop environmental scopes-of-work, deliverable schedules, fee estimates, and assist with proposals
- Participate in QAQC efforts for various environmental deliverables produced by Jacobs staff and sub-consultants
- Provide technical expertise and assist with mentoring junior NEPA staff
- Coordinate with specialists outside of our area to complete tasks when needed
- Ensure that project tasks are completed within established deadlines, budgets, and scope-of-work (Develop ETCs, communicate with PMs, and maintain records for scope creep)
- Stay current on evolving technical guidance from agencies and maintain successful client evaluation scores
- Bachelor's degree in Planning, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience as a NEPA Analyst supporting transportation infrastructure projects.
- Strong working knowledge of NEPA and applicable environmental regulations, including Section 4(f), Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, Section 404 of the Clean Water Act, the Endangered Species Act, and regulations governing the completion of air and noise studies for infrastructure project. and related regulations.
