- Evaluate complex customer biomedical equipment issues and implement appropriate repairs
- Perform planned maintenance, safety inspections, and environmental inspections
- Maintain effective customer relations and drive customer satisfaction through Service Excellence
- Follow and guide others on GE policies, procedures, hospital protocol, and required documentation
- Communicate and partner with teammates and colleagues
- Establish proactive daily customer communications to ensure resolution and follow-up
- Implement GE/customer facility contracts in support of business goals and objectives
- Lead, instruct, and assist technicians with basic and complex repairs
- Provide efficient service delivery to accounts within the assigned Atlanta area
- Share on-call/pager responsibility
- Document repair actions and submit scheduled reports and summaries
- Care for spares, tools, and test equipment; ensure calibration
- Maintain approved parts inventory
- Manage vendors' service delivery processes in compliance with GE policies
- Maintain technical knowledge of current medical-equipment standards, codes, and procedures through formal instruction
- May serve as Site Leader and direct activities of Biomedical Technicians assigned to a site
- Participate in customer relationships, including Safety Committee activities where applicable
- Meet Health and Human Services, Environmental Health and Safety, and other regulatory requirements
- Travel to one or more customer sites in the midtown Atlanta area
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of experience servicing medical equipment; OR equivalent military education and 2+ years of experience servicing electrical or mechanical equipment; OR High School Diploma/GED and 4+ years of experience servicing medical equipment
- Analytical and communication skills with the ability to communicate technical issues to customers in an easy-to-understand manner
- Willingness to be available after hours or work a rotating on-call schedule, including weekends, as necessary
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 lbs. unassisted
- Ability to frequently bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch/squat, kneel/crawl, sit, and stand for long periods
- Ability to reach at, above, and below shoulder level; flex/extend neck; and demonstrate good hand and finger dexterity
- Required vision abilities may include color, close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Must not require employment visa sponsorship now or in the future
- Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
- Customer vaccination mandates may apply
Demonstrates expertise in servicing biomedical equipment, including performing repairs, maintenance, and inspections while ensuring compliance with medical equipment standards and regulations. Strong communication skills facilitate effective customer relations and service excellence.
