Delta is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to support aircraft cabin electrical design, testing, certification, and substantiation activities. The engineer will develop test documentation, support aircraft certification requirements, coordinate with suppliers and regulatory stakeholders, and provide engineering support during flight testing and laboratory activities.
Responsibilities- Develop electrical test plans, checklists, and inspection plans.
- Develop substantiation reports and test plans/reports supporting aircraft cabin safety.
- Prepare presentations and technical materials for engineering and project meetings.
- Manage small STC/PMA projects related to electrical requirements and certification deliverables.
- Coordinate supplier data deliverables and responses to technical inquiries, significant issues, and airworthiness concerns.
- Coordinate with Designated Engineering Representatives (DERs), as applicable.
- Identify major design changes that may impact aircraft electrical systems.
- Support relationships and coordination with certification and regulatory agencies.
- Interface with airline customers during troubleshooting activities at flight-test locations, test laboratories, and engineering jigs.
- Support electrical design and substantiation activities associated with aircraft interiors.
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering
, or a related scientific field strongly preferred. - 4–7 years of overall engineering experience. Engineering internships and co-op assignments may be considered toward experience requirements.
- Working knowledge of aircraft engineering processes and substantiation techniques for Airbus and Boeing aircraft
. - Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with aircraft mechanical and structural design processes, materials, fabrication methods, and aerospace hardware.
- Strong organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively as an individual contributor in a professional engineering environment.
- Experience with AutoCAD or Draft Sight
. - Knowledge of aircraft electrical design and documentation.
- Understanding of aircraft certification and substantiation processes.
- Knowledge of aircraft interiors
. - Experience as an Electrical Design Engineer or Substantiation Engineer
. - Working knowledge of FAR regulations and aircraft certification
. - Experience supporting STC/PMA projects
. - Experience working with aircraft certification, regulatory agencies, DERs, and airline customers.
