An established environmental consulting firm in Atlanta is seeking an Environmental Compliance Specialist to support compliance projects for national, multi-site clients out of the Atlanta area. This role focuses primarily on SPCC and stormwater compliance, with exposure to audits, permitting, training, and assessment work across a range of industries. This role is open to anyone in the United States that meets the qualifications below.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare, review, and recertify SPCC Plans, including oil inventory calculations and containment evaluations.
  • Develop and maintain SWPPPs and industrial stormwater permit coverage.
  • Conduct outfall evaluations, sampling and benchmark monitoring, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Perform environmental compliance audits and facility evaluations across manufacturing, trucking, distribution, fuel, and utility sites.
  • Prepare Facility Response Plans, permit applications, and regulatory submittals.
  • Advise on secondary containment, AST/UST compliance, waste minimization, and wastewater discharge programs.
  • Support Phase I and Phase II ESAs and soil and groundwater investigations as needed.
  • Deliver on-site and virtual training to client personnel on spill response, stormwater BMPs, and waste handling.
  • Manage project scopes, budgets, schedules, and day-to-day client communication.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • PE license, or EIT with the ability to obtain the PE.
  • 4-8+ years of environmental compliance or consulting experience.
  • Experience preparing SPCC Plans and SWPPPs.
  • Strong knowledge of state and federal environmental regulations, including 40 CFR 112, NPDES stormwater, RCRA, and air permitting.
  • OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification preferred (or ability to obtain).
  • Excellent technical writing, project management, and client communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects independently while collaborating with technical staff.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites regionally, with occasional national travel.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet applicable client, safety, and background screening requirements
