Firmware Engineering Specialist – BUILD Leadership Program

• Participate in Acuity Inc.'s two-year BUILD rotational program.
• Rotate to a different functional area every six months.
• Rotate through New Product Development and Sustaining/VAVE.
• Explore additional rotations such as Optical Engineering, Light Engine Engineering, Outsourced Product Development, Product Support, Product Management, Project Management, Tech Support, Field Service, Post Sales, and Labs & Certifications.
• Build business acumen, functional expertise, and professional skills through hands‑on experience.
• Collaborate with program peers on business processes and initiatives.
• Attend leadership report‑out meetings to share rotational learnings.
• Participate in performance reviews to identify strengths and areas for growth.
• Take an active role in professional development and contribute to business objectives.

• A Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts in Electrical Engineering or Electrical is required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
• Demonstrated problem-solving and time-management skills are required.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is required.
• Intermediate general proficiency with AI tools is required.
• Availability to travel based on business needs (up to 20%) is required.
• Experience in basic principals of scripting and leveraging APIs.
• Experience with basic control cabling and network configuration.
• Comfortable working with third party lighting hardware.
• Leadership experience influencing change, people, and processes is highly preferred.
• Team-oriented with a drive to take the initiative is highly preferred.
• Less than two years of related work experience is highly preferred.

Demonstrates strong foundational knowledge in Electrical Engineering, with hands‑on experience in New Product Development and Sustaining/VAVE. Possesses excellent communication, problem-solving, and time‑management skills, complemented by proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and AI tools.
